Day 138: Pelican Ballet.

After the rains hit Birdsville and we escaped to Cuttaburra Crossing.  It has been such a peaceful morning sitting beside the water watching the birdlife.  Pelicans are in abundance with all the water in the outback.  They can certainly pick and choose their waterholes this year for breeding.  All morning these guys were swimming downstream and flying back up to the top and staring all over again.  Ducking their heads down for fish and having a wonderful time with no cares in the world, except where the next fish are coming from.  It was a beautiful site in nature to witness.  It would also appear because our ‘friend’ has expensive taste in cheese and we have run out, he seems to have gone. We aren’t getting our hopes up too high yet.
