365 days = 365 photographs..rules of engagement; 1.I have to take a photo each day, no matter where I am and what I am doing. 2. Post it, when possible. Not all the places I will be visiting have access to the web; yes I know it is hard to believe but there are still some places like that exist, and they are amazing. 3. No photos from your film library can be used or posted..remember it isn't about the destination, but the journey that takes us there..enjoy. :)

Day 328 – Waiting.
While we wait for the rain. Some of mother nature’s wonders are waiting for something else to happen. Nestled in the reeds of the freshwater lakes in town. Mother Magpie Goose sits on her golden egg, waiting for the joy of young ones running around. They can actually lay up to 16 eggs, average 8 eggs. Now that is some instant family. :)

Day 327 – On the lookout.
Beautiful Torres Strait Pigeons have been flying around for the past couple of months. Checking out the scenery down on the Cape from their usual habitat in the Torres Straits. Creating new families, catching up to old friends, checking out new homes. High in the trees they are always on the lookout for those bright palm berries to munch on for afternoon tea with friends.

Day 301 – Target acquired.
Early bird gets the worm, or bug as the case may be here. Low tide on the mud flats of the Esplanade. Sandpipers were homing in on their targets. Namely breakfast of bugs and crabs. Very few escaped this hungry little fellow this morning. He was getting in quick because at 7am it had already hit the 30s. It’s been a hot week, and think going to continue past the weekend; yeah!

Day 287 – Got my Eye on you.
High in the gum tree the koala bears have gone on summer retreat and the lorikeets’ have come to play hide and seek in its branches. The midgees may eat you alive at the bottom of the tree, but I guess that provides a smorgasbord high above for our feathered friend.

Day 239 - Got you.
In the animal kingdom, if you want a photo of a two legged, four, six, eight legged friend you have to have patience. I've been stalking this Intermediate egret for the last couple of days in the local tributary. Hiding amongst the mangroves, her beautiful breeding plumage drapes out over the water, as she feeds in the shallows, waiting for Mr Right to come along. When she eventually lays her eggs high in the nest of a tall tree, they will be pale green colour.

Day 236 - Air Control.
This is major Tom. Should have been the song ringing out over the lakes district today. The Pacific Black ducks were all having a meeting, bathing, and preening their feathers with expertise. A dip in the lake, splash around, another dip. Bit of preening with that 360 degree head/neck (well it seemed like it) getting to the hard spots on the back. Fast air dry with the flap of the wings, above the water. All done. Next. Another comes to land and it happens all over again. Nothing like splashing around in the water on a hot almost summer's day.

Day 234 – Waggy tails/chin.
The days of the old chin wag over the fence with neighbours have left many streets. There are still those wonderful streets that chin wags and maybe the odd social drink happen. I guess sometimes there is also that nosy neighbour too. That it is part and parcel of different strokes making the world go round. With his waggy tail frantically going back and forth. There isn’t much of a chin wag going on this afternoon. However, high on the cards is afternoon tea of bush bees for our Willie Wagtail friend.
