Day 210 - Really!

October only has a few hours left, and then we hit November.   The scary thought is, it is only eight weeks till Christmas - arhhh.  That is certainly coming around quicker, than one would have hoped.  Can I rewind to when I was a kid?  It seemed to go so s....l....o....w when you were waiting for something exciting to happen.  As there is no magic button for rewind yet.  For now will just fly out of October and look forward to hitting Tassie on Friday. Yahoo :)

Day 209 - Crossroads.

There comes a point in time when we are faced with choices.  Hit the crossroad and have to pick; left, right, back, or straight ahead.  Sometimes that is easy to do; other times not so much fun.  Whenever you come across one of those times, make sure, no regrets.  You've given it all and time to change the course or get stuck in a rut.  At the end of the day the choice is yours to make.  Stick with it and be happy.  :)

Day 208 - Serenity.

It can take on many forms, and concepts.  Meaning can translate to a whole array of things.  For instance; in the Australian movie The Castle the man of the house, calls the enormous electricity towers that run the back of his property his "serenity towers".  It must have been the gentle hum they produce!  Or just switching off your mind for 5 secs to regroup may be your serenity nano second.  Whatever your concept of serenity; hoping you have at least 5 minutes of it today.  :)

Day 207 - No Crocs here.

Triathlons are quite popular here in the north.  Cairns now plays host to the big guns for those 'super' ironmen and women in June of each year.  Today; however, it was all in the name of 'fun'.  Raising funds for Breast Cancer.   One just for the ladies; Tri de Femme is in its 16th year of running.  Open to all levels of fitness (that's how I got in) and just about having a go, the bonus swim in pool, so no worries about crocs!  Well done to everyone who participated, awesome job.  Thanks to the Cairns Croc Triathlon Club for organising it.  It was a great morning and a very different one for me on a early Sunday morn. :)

Day 206 – Sweet.

Summer is definitely around the corner with the explosion of summer fruit and veg’s at Rusty’s local market.  Mangos, avocados, nectarines, watermelon, peaches and not to be forgotten pineapples are just a few on offer at the markets, today.  The first written record of a pineapple was in 1398, they were referred to as a pine cone, which comes from the Spanish word pina.  To think, a Pina Colada concept started all the way back then!  :)

Day 205 - Just one more minute..please.

With the early sun hitting the top of the mountains, shining down over the Inlet.  The sandpipers were trying to get just one more minute of shut eye before their day started.  Heads tucked back into their wings.  Sunrise already creating the shadow lands.  Forty winks are a priority.  Even if the sun is just up there is always time for an extra snooze if you can.  Rebel hit that SNOOZE button.  TGF - have a great weekend. :)

Day 204 - Goose or Gander?

The humble goose features in a lot of sayings.  Be it goosy gander = being idiot or doing something stupid.  Or nursery rhymes the goose that laid the golden eggs (wouldn't we all like one of those) they are very cool creatures.  When they fly in 'V' formation, the flap of their wing creates an uplift for the next.  So flying V formation they can fly 75% further than if they were all individually scattered over the place doing their own thing.  Maybe we should take a lesson from the geese to get things done!
