Day 71 – Theatres of Old.

Not quite home yet but reality hit as we flew into Essendon last night and the fairy lights of Melbourne spread out below, back to the big smoke, with less starry nights.  But you always have to look at the positive things in life, had an absolute awesome time, met some great people and visited some very special spots in Australia, with the extra bonus of learning more about photography.  Explored the streets of Camberwell with an old friend today and found the Rivoli cinema of yesteryear which is very much in operation today.  Beautiful spiral staircases, retro 50 signs, lead you on the path to the cinema.  Apparently the colour scheme of the foyer and cinema is “reminiscent of the colours used during the deco era following the discovery of Tutankhamen’s tomb”.  It is also Heritage listed, so this old girl is going to be sticking around for some time to come.
