At the moment all the bottle brush trees seem to be in full bloom, and in the mornings and afternoons birds swarm in and taste the sweet nectar. You know I’m not that morning person, so this afternoon, the tree was loaded with Rainbow Lorikeets and they were having a lovely time hanging upside down, sucking out all the nectar from the flowers. Seeing how they were the biggest competition in the tree, the smaller guys seem to be losing out on all the good stuff. My beautiful dog Phoenix, soon bought competition to fair stakes by barking and they all took off. He isn’t a fan of birds in his yard, so I’m surprised he left it that long. Phoenix did organise it by leaving it for the bees, until the big guns come back next time, nature working at its best.
