Day 344 - Tropic Life.

Nothing represents the tropics better than a frangipani flower.  Well, if said flower was in a dreamy cocktail, on the beach with palm trees swaying; that would be the icing on the cake.  Beautiful fragrance fills the air as you walk around.  There are so many colours now, it's not all about your standard white and yellow.  Legend of WWII when sailors left Hawaii they threw their frangipani lei overboard as they sailed past Diamond Head.  If it floated to the shore they would come back.  Towards the ship meant no return.

Day 316 – Cupids arrow.

Today is one of those days, you either love or you hate; Valentine’s Day.  For other’s it is a bit of a money spinner.  Whatever you think you can’t deny that love is a beautiful thing.  When you are blessed with it, hold on to it.  If it hasn’t knocked on your door, don’t be afraid to let a little out.  Yes, there is always that risk of being hurt, but love outweighs the fear.  You can say it with words, flowers, or fruit; but hope you all get to share the love today and every other day too.  Xoxo  :)

Day 313 – Flamin’ torch.

Red flaming torches are popping up in gardens.  Sunbirds are cruising in for desert in the afternoons.  Humans can also eat them as well, as their ginger root cousins.  One of the folklores, or myths about the ginger root is they can give fiery protection and heats up love and money spells.  Maybe something to consider for 14th. :)

Day 312 – Bloomin’ red.

Keeping things red and in the theme of Chinese New Year.  With a sprinkle of rain the bottle brush has come out to play again, in time for the celebrations.  It’s a good thing it is a very hardy plant because it pretty much looks after itself.   It’s official botanical name is Callistemon, derived from a Greek words kallos  and stemon meaning beauty and stemen for its showy bits.

Day 306 – Gumnut babies.

The tales of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie was on the top of favourite story book list to read.  Taking you on a magical adventure in the imaginary world of the gumnut babies.  May Gibbs first book of the babies was first published in 1918.  Amazing to think a beautiful story written nearly 100 years ago is still on the book shelf.  With the changing world of ‘eBooks’’ I hope kids continue to enjoy this story for many more years to come.  Life is pretty boring if you don’t let your imagination run away every now and again. :)

Day 294 – Colours thru raindrops.

The deluge may continue to fall.  Grey clouds hanging around dropping the fat rain.  You have to find some colour to brighten the day up and give you nothing but smiles.  Frangipani is one of my favourite tropical flowers.  Yellows, pinks, apricots, reds; they have evolved over time in different colours.  Whenever you smell one though it reminds me of the beach, palm trees, cocktails and sunshine.  If it is rainy, snowing, or cloudy hope this brings some sunshine in your world.:)

Day 288 – Nature’s cracker.

With a ‘little’ bit of rain about; bottle brush has started to fire, all over the tree.  Exploding from the buds, in a flame of red fire.  The cover is slowly creeping over the branches.  Ready for when the rain has finally gone away.  The birds will come and play.  Although with the forecast to date.  I believe the wet season is about to start in full swing with a vengeance.
