Today marks the end of the Festival of Cairns, celebrated with Carnival on Collins. Whilst the rain clouds hung over the city in all shades of black and grey, and it was steamier than a hot pot in China. Local residents were out in force shopping at market stalls, screening art exhibitions, watching bands, and street performers. Dragonflies roamed through the crowd on scooters, gumnut babies blended in the botanical gardens. This street performer made up part of a trio that sung ‘It’s Raining Men’ with fly squatters. I know there is an art metaphor in there somewhere I’m still looking. They were very funny and it was just lovely to see it doesn’t matter how old you are, smile and the world will smile back and get out there and enjoy life.
365 days = 365 photographs..rules of engagement; 1.I have to take a photo each day, no matter where I am and what I am doing. 2. Post it, when possible. Not all the places I will be visiting have access to the web; yes I know it is hard to believe but there are still some places like that exist, and they are amazing. 3. No photos from your film library can be used or posted..remember it isn't about the destination, but the journey that takes us there..enjoy. :)
