Flying over this wonderful country in a light plane takes on a whole new dynamic. With recent rain some of the countryside looks like a giant has laid a green velvet blanket over the mountains. Flying today from the light pink/brown soils of the Coober Pedy mounds to the dark red centre of Oz, was a sight to behold. The George Gill Range in Watarrka National Park, stretched out before us, as we banked to land on the dirt strip of Kings Creek Station. The Watarrka National Park also contains Kings Canyon, but you’ll just have to wait tomorrow for a sneak peak at that one.
