Day 190: Turtle Forum.

Do you know what the difference between a turtle and a tortoise is?  I put the sleuth hat on and did a bit of investigation trying to find out what sort of turtles these little guys are.  A turtle lives in or near the water and has adapted to swimming and holding their breath underwater.  A tortoise predominantly lives in arid regions, built to store own water supply and have feet adapted to walk on sandy ground.  These long neck turtles, were hanging out on a piece of bamboo lakeside.  As soon as somebody walked past they headed for the water again, only to have a sneak peak to see if the coast was clear moments later, and climb back on.  They are amazing little creatures with quite the personality too.  Our turtle forum were holding discussions on airport noise, all watching a helicopter in the sky.  I kid you not, if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes probably wouldn’t believe it.  Their long necks turned at the direction of sound from the chopper, when it changed direction, so did their heads.  Nature has some strange little fellows but this put a smile on my face for the day.
