Day 322: Reward at the top.

We all do some crazy things in our lives, some alone and others with friends.  I think this afternoon was one of those crazy moments shared with friends.  It has been over 12 months since I’ve ventured up the Red Arrow; very popular walking track close to the Cairns CBD.  It is one of those silly places that goes straight up and people run up, down and because they haven’t had enough.  Hey let’s do it all again, maybe three times.  Fancy that got to wonder what makes people tick when they zoom by you and you are wondering if the oxygen will ever reach your lungs again, face getting redder by the minute.  Oh that’s right; you have to breathe as you walk up a steep hill.   It is also for the greater good, apparently.  One of the things when you reach the top of the Red, and go just that wee bit further, a haven waits in the form of a seat at the top to view over the inlet.  Great excuse as you take in said view, to regain oxygen into lungs again, and let the breeze cool you done.  It is one of those walks that when you reach the bottom because walking down was the easy part, yep I’d do that again, what a great walk.  Funny how the brain forgets some forms of pains, but thanks to my mates for dragging me up there, oxygen now returning to lungs!
