Day 290: Light trails.

One of the really cool things about photography is night photography.  Star trails, and time lapse photography.  It is a challenge and a lot of fun at the same time.  Another thing is that you have to work with what you have on the day, especially if you are passing through a place you may never visit again.  You may get upset with lighting not right, the weather, and go home with nothing.  The other way to look at it is embrace what you have and make the most of it.  Tonight I planned a photo of the full moon over the water.  However, the rain clouds and storms set in, engulfing the blue skies with gray.  So when you are on a deadline, your creative side really needs to come out.  Fairy lights sit on our pool fence.  By day the sun charges the batteries; by night they flicker in the darkness.  With time lapse photography they become something entirely different weaving magic of fairies flying in the night.  Remember next time you have the camera out, it doesn’t have to be the daylight, night-time can offer some amazing experiences.  Oh, and with a bit of luck in the next 70 days I will be able to get that shot of the full moon over the water.  Patience is the key.
