May live in the Far North of Australia now, but when I visit Coogee in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney it is like coming home, after living there for 13 years. It is a little community in itself with every nationality of food you could think of, great beach to swim at. Also the famous or infamous Coogee Bay Hotel; don’t believe everything you read about that place though. Flying home today I couldn’t resist a swing by to the old beach and cliffs, and take in the sites, and of course sample some great food. Just missed ‘The Hoff’ handing out ice-creams too, gee what a shame. Here is a little trivia that you may not have known about Coogee; the original track that bought people to the beach from the city area in 1832 is known as Anzac Parade, and Alison Road. Surf bathing became popular so in 1907 the Coogee Bay Life Saving Club formed, and still runs strong today, steeped in traditions. In 1928 a wonderful pier was built out from the beach; to house ‘amusement rides’, but mother nature decided that it wasn’t going to spoil the beach and waves pounded the structure. It was demolished in 1934.
365 days = 365 photographs..rules of engagement; 1.I have to take a photo each day, no matter where I am and what I am doing. 2. Post it, when possible. Not all the places I will be visiting have access to the web; yes I know it is hard to believe but there are still some places like that exist, and they are amazing. 3. No photos from your film library can be used or posted..remember it isn't about the destination, but the journey that takes us there..enjoy. :)
