It may be known as the Old Great Northern Road now. Back in 1826 -1834 convicts were sweating blood and tears to carve the road out of rock. When you hit the top of the mountain an hour out of Sydney, you begin to realise you are entering a new world, away from the relentless pace of the capital. Wisemans Ferry was a town established in 1817 by a convict named Solomon Wiseman. Situated on the Hawkesbury River it is a little historical gem, to rest and relax at. Have lunch at the historical pub, and check out the little shops. There are two ferries set up to go to the Hunter Valley and St Albans; once they carried supplies to these areas, now it caters for tourist taking the scenic route.
365 days = 365 photographs..rules of engagement; 1.I have to take a photo each day, no matter where I am and what I am doing. 2. Post it, when possible. Not all the places I will be visiting have access to the web; yes I know it is hard to believe but there are still some places like that exist, and they are amazing. 3. No photos from your film library can be used or posted..remember it isn't about the destination, but the journey that takes us there..enjoy. :)
