Mother Nature has some incredible little creatures hanging around, and the Stick Insect is no exception. When I first saw this girl today, I really had to take a double look and debate whether it was just a stick or it was an insect. She blended so well into the tree and it was only when she moved that realised it wasn’t the tree that suddenly came alive. This is a Titan Stick Insect and one of the largest in Australia. When in the resting position like our friend here; the front legs go straight out giving us the illusion of being at one with the tree. The little side sway motion helps too, maybe not so when there is no wind about, but today with a gentle breeze she was well and truly at home, and camouflaged, whilst giving me the eye!
365 days = 365 photographs..rules of engagement; 1.I have to take a photo each day, no matter where I am and what I am doing. 2. Post it, when possible. Not all the places I will be visiting have access to the web; yes I know it is hard to believe but there are still some places like that exist, and they are amazing. 3. No photos from your film library can be used or posted..remember it isn't about the destination, but the journey that takes us there..enjoy. :)
