Day 128 - Bloomin' Friday.

After a couple of cloudy days, it was nice to see the blue skies return, just in time for the weekend. Gerbera's would have to be put near the top of the list, favourite flowers.  Their bright colours, always make me smile and one of those feel good flowers.   It appears the world likes them too, and it's the fifth most important cut flower in the world.  Wishing you bright colours and happy days over the weekend, and have a great one.

Day 127 - Balancing act.

Some days you struggle to keep all the balls juggling in the air.  Whether it is running the kids all over the shop after school.  Working 12 hour day and then having to do all that domesticated stuff, trying to fit in exercise.  After a very long day.  To top it off you are having the worst bad hair day on record.  You know what you're only human some days it happens.  The balancing act will continue tomorrow.  Take time out today and enjoy something you really love doing, regroup.  It appears even in the bird world they have those balancing/bad feather days too.

Day 126 - Chicken or Egg.

So what came first the chicken or the egg?  Not something you think about every day.  However, it is one of those conversation topics that sometimes comes up every now and again when you're in a group.   Hours later you are probably still no closer to the end result.  The round- a-bout continues.  Maybe it is one of life's unanswered questions and continue to be one of those mystery's that will have thousands of theories written but no conclusion.  What do you think; chicken or egg?

Day 125 Nature's Pitcher.

Pitcher Plant

It may not be made of glass but in the afternoon twilight  it was sparkling in the beams.  Ready to trap the unsuspecting insects that are lured into its lair.  Tiny hairs sit inside so the insects can't get out.  At the bottom awaits a bath of enzymes' and water.  Hmmmm yum, but not such a cool end for insect friends.  Then again it is the circle of life, something has to give.

Day 124 - Toss over.

Cracks in the ground sit gapping for water to quench their thirst.  The sun blossoms overhead, it has done for days.  Rain still doesn't fall, cracks remain and grow wider.  Cane has been cut, the field ploughed over for another season.  Slowly emerging from the cracks are new shoots of baby cane, in search of water.  Waiting.

Day 123 - Waiting.

Sunbird - Cairns Australia
Sunbirds are once again playing peek-a-boo out of the nest that sits under the roof of our verandah.  With the home already built, it was a quick move in and now it's just the waiting for the kids (aka chicks) to arrive.  Full of song in the morning and afternoon, when I catch them.  The pair sing their little hearts out to help pass the time.  Anxious as any waiting parent that things will be great when all baked.  Hopefully, there will be new baby birds soon, we'll just have to wait and see.

Day 122 - Dancing light.

Let me begin by saying no I didn't get stuck into the mojitio's early this afternoon.  However, the right side has slightly taken over and the abstract has come forth as a result.  Can't help the challenge of playing with macros, light and moving water.  This water happened to be shooting straight into the air and the sunlight dancing away in the bubbles of h2o.  Maybe they are gearing up for their Saturday night, who knows.  Enjoy your night whatever you are up too, and keep smiling. :)

Day 121 - Friday's sunburst.

Have I mentioned its winter here?  Blue sky, sun, mid to high 20s (degree Celsius) through the day.  The far north is definitely on a roll at the moment.  Even the weather man said last night, there are only so many ways you can say 'fine' day ahead.  It's a bit like groundhog day.  You know what though, I'm certainly not complaining and lapping it up because I know how 'special' our summers can be.  So going to take the good while it lasts and be thankful.  Machans beach looking up towards Double Island was magic today.  It's Friday and sometimes you have to lap that sunshine up while you can, with an amber ale thrown in the mix.  Have a great weekend. :)

Day 120 - Centre earth

Ever seen the movie Journey to the Centre of the Earth?  The adventure that Trevor Anderson and co,  had discovering the wonders of middle earth.  Minus hobbits of course in this quest.  Must have certainly turned their minds upside down.   Image seeing rivers of molten lava pulse through the centre.  Building up pressure to burst out of dormant volcano's would be awe-inspiring yet frightening at the same time.   So to let your mind wonder away for five minutes, it may be an orange but for one second just pretend you are amongst the lava rivers of centre earth and escape the surface for wee a bit.  :)

Day 119 - Watch out for that...what?

Ever been free falling and not quite known what you are doing?  The wings keep flapping trying to aim for a smooth without turbulence landing.  Try as we might sometimes, the bumpy landings get in the way and you have to learn to pick yourself up again and move forward keeping the end goal in sight.  Grab on to those who inspire you to keep the mouse wheel moving forward.  One day the baby steps will add up to the end goal, even if you've had a few bumpy landings along the way.  Just don't give up.
