Down the road, Gordonvale may only be 10 minutes away by car. It holds a pretty special part of history for the area, and a lot of buildings haven’t changed much from back in the day, which adds to the character of the town. St Michaels was built in 1934, and recently had a new coat of paint, and the leaky roof restored. With the onset of the wet season is a great thing. It is a beautiful old church, in this area. Did you also know Gordonvale wasn’t always known as such? It was called Nelson; it was changed to honour a local pioneer John Gordon.
